The City Auditorium opened in the heart of downtown Bowie, Texas, in 1927 in the midst of the "Build Bowie Bigger and Better" community improvement campaign. Citizens approved a bond issue to pay for the facility.
With your help, this landmark cvic building will once again be a lively regional venue for arts, entertainment, education and community activities.

When the Stage of Dreams comes back to life, the 19,000 square-foot building will include:
- State-of-the-art, 900-seat auditorium;
- Movie projector and screen;
- Art and historical exhibit galleries;
- Muncipal offices and dressing rooms on the lower level;
- Mezzanine room for community functions.
This major civic project is estimated to cost $3 million. Funding for the project will come from municipal funds, foundation and agency grants, and contributions from a multi-phased capital campaign.
